Dee Washer

Dee Washer lives in the high desert light of San Miguel de Allende, yet her roots reach deep into the soil of the Arkansas Delta in the United States. The cadence of Delta Blues still moves through her work—the bold, raw rhythm of a music that carries memory, endurance, and story. From her childhood she also carries the vibrant decorative spirit of Afro-American culture: color, pattern, and improvisation.

In her paintings, these influences from the United States meet the visual poetry of Latin America. Years of traveling through Mexico and Guatemala have left their mark—woven textiles, painted walls, village architecture, and the living palette of the landscape. In Dee’s abstract work, these worlds converge, creating images where Delta rhythms and sunlit colors speak to one another across borders.
